Adaptive strength coach & logger

Every set has a next number, and the app tells you why.

Next set 60 kg × 8 +2.5 kg from last week — you called it Easy twice

Trackers show you what you did last time and leave the decision to you. Class apps play a video and never ask what you lifted. Overload puts the number on the set row before you start, asks one tap after the set — Easy, Right, Hard, Failed — and prints one plain sentence about what changed and why. The plan lives inside a named, visible cycle, so you always know where you are.

Logging, the rest timer, the Live Activity, the presenter library and your history are never paywalled. Pro is one payment of $7.99, not a subscription, and there is nothing to cancel.

Overload's presenter demonstrating a bodyweight squat on a plain background, the same presenter used consistently across every exercise in the library.

A coach's clipboard, not a spreadsheet or a video library

Trackers log what you did. Class apps play a video. Overload is the one that decides today's number and explains it.

No account, nothing to sync

Overload never asks you to sign up or log in. Every session, set, feedback tap and gym profile lives in a local database on your phone. There is no server, so there is nothing to breach and nothing to sync.

A Hebrew-only trainer app in this category charges ₪99–120 a month for static recommendations. Overload asks for neither a login nor a subscription.

One price, $7.99 once

Pro is a single non-consumable purchase, not a subscription and not a trial that charges you later. The free tier keeps the engine itself working: explore 10 exercises, run one exercise and one full set a day with the complete engine, swap with a reason, the plate calculator and JSON export, forever.

Adaptive competitors bill every year for the same daily decision. Overload asks once.

Widgets, Live Activity and a rest timer that runs itself

The rest timer counts down on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island with the next set's number already on it, and the small widget shows today's session without opening the app. Say it out loud or type it: "25 minutes, dumbbells only" rewrites the session on the spot.

Say-it's grammar layer is free in every supported language; the on-device model layer that handles messier phrasing is Pro.

How it works

Three steps, every session: a number before you start, one tap when you finish a set, one sentence about what changed.

1

Today's number is already on the row

Open a session and every exercise is pre-filled: today's prescription — 60 kg × 8 · 3 sets · rest 2:00 — with last session's result sitting beside it as a ghost.

2

Tap once when you finish a set

No "RPE," no jargon. After the last set of an exercise you get four honest words: Easy, Right, Hard, Failed. The engine maps that tap to how much you lift next time.

3

Get one sentence, not a black box

The feedback sheet closes with the reasoning line, every time.

"Next week: 62.5 kg. You hit every rep and called it Easy."

The engine is never a hostage

The mechanic itself — a number, a tap, a reason — is visible for free every single day. Pro opens the rest of the cycle, the rest of the library and the history you reach for after a month or two.

The privacy promise

Overload is built to need nothing from you but what you lift. Here is exactly what stays on your phone and what does not.

  • Everything lives on your device

Every session, set, feedback tap, cycle, your gym profile and every setting is stored locally in a database on your phone. There is no account, no server and no cloud copy. Export is a manual, optional JSON file that you control.

  • Analytics are counts and kinds, never your workout

We use Mixpanel and Firebase Analytics/Crashlytics to see which features get used and to catch crashes. They collect coarse counts and kinds of events — never the loads you lifted, the exercise names in your log or any note you wrote.

  • No health data ever leaves your device

Your training history, measurements and body map never leave your phone. If Apple Health write is enabled in a future version, workouts are written to Apple Health only on your request; nothing is read back or uploaded.

  • No ads, no account, no server

Overload shows no ads and includes no advertising SDK. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing that requires a network connection to work.
