What Overload is
Overload is an adaptive strength coach and logger for people training in a gym or at home. It tells you what to lift today and why, records what you did, and rewrites the rest of the plan based on your feedback taps. It works fully offline. There are no user accounts, no sign-up and no ads. There is no server and no cloud copy of your data.
Data stored only on your device
Everything below is stored locally (an SQLite database plus small preference storage) and is never uploaded:
- every session, exercise, set and load you log, and the Easy / Right / Hard / Failed feedback tap after each exercise;
- your cycle and plan state (On-ramp, Build, Push, Deload), streaks and baselines;
- your gym profile and its equipment checklist;
- body map and measurements (Pro);
- settings (theme, units, language, backup/export history);
- purchase status (Pro);
- the text you type or dictate into the Say-it field (processed on the device; never uploaded).
Deleting the app deletes all of it. An export is created only when you choose "Export" and pick where to save the JSON file. That file is yours and under your control.
Widgets, Live Activity and Siri
The Home Screen widget, the Lock Screen widget, the rest-timer Live Activity and any App Intents read a small projection kept in the app's private container on your device. All of it is done by the system, on your device only, and none of it is sent anywhere.
On-device model (Apple Intelligence)
On supported iPhones and languages, Pro can use the on-device model that interprets messier Say-it phrasing (for example "I have 40 minutes at the hotel"). This runs on the device with Apple's Foundation Models framework; the text is not sent to us or to any server. Say-it's grammar layer — the free, deterministic version that understands simple phrasings — runs on every device, in every supported language, and is never sent anywhere either.
Microphone
Dictation into the Say-it field uses the system keyboard's dictation; Overload itself does not record or process audio.
Health data
No health data leaves your device. If Apple Health write support is enabled in a future version, workouts are written to Apple Health only on your request, and nothing is read back from Health or uploaded anywhere.
No ads and no tracking
Overload shows no ads and includes no advertising SDK. We do not track you across apps or websites, so there is no App Tracking Transparency prompt. On Android the advertising-ID permission is explicitly blocked.
Analytics and crash reports
To learn which features are used and to fix problems, Overload uses Mixpanel for usage events and Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics for usage and crash reports. What is collected is counts and kinds only:
- general, aggregate usage events (for example: session started, set logged, feedback tap kind, swap performed, paywall viewed) with coarse, non-identifying properties (kind of event, exercise pattern, phase, whether the user is Pro);
- platform, app version, language, and Pro status (yes/no);
- crash reports (stack traces and device model);
- a random, anonymous install identifier (not the advertising ID, not the IDFA).
What is never collected or sent: your name, email, phone, precise location, the loads you lifted, exercise names in your log, notes, the text you type into Say-it, measurements, or any identifying information. Data is not sold and there is no cross-app tracking. Analytics data is transmitted over HTTPS.
No bank, health-record or third-party account access
Overload does not connect to any external account. It has no server component at all beyond the analytics and crash-reporting SDKs described above.
Purchases
Pro is a one-time purchase (no subscription) made through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Payment details never reach us; we only learn whether the purchase succeeded. Restore is available at no charge. Purchases are per platform.
Deletion
All your data is on your device; deleting the app deletes it completely (exported files you saved elsewhere are yours to delete). To ask us to delete analytics events tied to your anonymous install identifier, email overload@benbasha.com from the device (include the app version) and we will action it.
Children
Overload is a general-audience fitness utility and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
Store privacy label (declaration guide)
- Data linked to you: none.
- Data not linked to you: Identifiers (anonymous install id), Usage Data (aggregate analytics), Diagnostics (crash data).
- Tracking: none. Health & fitness data: not collected (stored on device only; Apple Health write, if enabled in a future version, is on-request and one-directional).
